Word Wall Words
Ideas to help your child study their words.
- Write the words on different textured paper (found at Wal-Mart)
- Use different writing utencils like markers, finger paint, fun pens, etc. to write their words.
- Get creative by using different material that can be found at
Wal-Mart like play dough or pipe cleaners to spell the letters of the
word.
- Have them write their words in sand, shaving cream or even pudding.
- Make a word wall in their room by writing it on word cards and
taping them on a wall in their room. Ask them periodically the
words on their wall.
- Play board games with the words. Take a game board from
another game you have at home. Make word cards and make up your
own rules to play.
- To challenge your child ask them to tell you rhyming words to
some of the words. Have them put the words in sentences or put
the words in abc order.
- Change the first letter of the word to make new words to read like taking the word not and making the words hot, cot, pot, rot, lot, dot.
