Word Wall Words

Word Wall Words

Ideas to help your child study their words.

  • Write the words on different textured paper (found at Wal-Mart)
  • Use different writing utencils like markers, finger paint, fun pens, etc. to write their words.
  • Get creative by using different material that can be found at Wal-Mart like play dough or pipe cleaners to spell the letters of the word.
  • Have them write their words in sand, shaving cream or even pudding.
  • Make a word wall in their room by writing it on word cards and taping them on a wall in their room.  Ask them periodically the words on their wall.
  • Play board games with the words.  Take a game board from another game you have at home.  Make word cards and make up your own rules to play.
  • To challenge your child ask them to tell you rhyming words to some of the words.  Have them put the words in sentences or put the words in abc order.
  • Change the first letter of the word to make new words to read like taking the word not and making the words hot, cot, pot, rot, lot, dot.
