| This is a nine week class in which 8th grade students will explore a
variety of programs. Students will use the programs: Google Earth, Manila (web program) Garageband, and iMovie. Students learn the program by completing a tutorial on
each one and then skills are demonstrated by completing projects.
Students used Google Earth to locate where they live. We also explored other places. We learned to use longitude and latitude to locate places, how to use the Business section and to find the driving directions to places. Our second project students used an online web program to create a web page. We used the program Manila. Our third project was Garageband. Students first had to create a one minute song and the second assignment was to create a song to a poem or nursery rhyme. We will wrap up the nine weeks with creating a digital story using iMovie.
