* Talk to your child about what is going on in his/her life
* Read to your child daily
* Take the time to play with your child
* Encourage your childto use his/her imagination
* Praise your child frequently
* Always take the time to tell your child that he/she is loved
* Get your child out in the community
* Expose yur child to as many different experiences as you can
* Ask your child the 5 W questions (Who, What, When , Where, Why)
* Set and define rules and expectations and consequences at home
* Provide your child with boundaries
* Give your child some responsibilities
* Provide regular routines at home for your child
* Keep in contact with your child's school and teacher
* Check your child's assignment sheet
* Provide a quiet place and time for your child to do homework
* Drill and review skills that your child has learned
* Get your child involved in extra-curricular activities
