Team Roping!
Team roping is a team event in rodeoing. There is a header and heeler. The header starts in the right box and heeler starts in the left one with the steer is in the middle. Some rodeos have a barrier so that the steer gets a head start. This depends how big the area is. If the header starts too soon the team gets a 10 second penelty. It is a timed event so who ever has the fastest time wins. Time starts when you leave the box to when the heeler has caught and daled up.
Daled is when they wrap their rope around the saddle horn.
A penalty is when time is added at the end. The header ropes first and must catch one of three legal catches. The catches must be around both horns, around one horn, or around the head or neck. Any other catch it is called illegal and the team is disqualified. After the header makes their catch he turns the steer to the left so the heeler can make attempts to catch both hind legs. If the heeler only catches one leg they get a 5-sec pelalty.
