!Fast pitch Softball!

batting: A girl batting in the batters box waiting for the ball to be pitched to her.

HISTORY- Softball was founded in Chicago, on Thanksgiving Day in 1887. The people used a boxing glove as a ball and a broom as a bat. A bunch of 20-year-old men gathered in a gymnasium to hear the final score of the Harvard-Yale game. George Hancock yelled, "Let's play ball!" They took chalk, marked a diamond on the floor and starting playing with a taped boxing glove and a broomstick. That game was known as the first softball game from 111 years ago. Hancock wrote rules and named it inside baseball. The popularity of this game was immediate. It became very popular in Toronto. When someone chooses to play fast pitch it must be a priority to that person. When playing against other teams you meet so many new and fun people you gain a lot of friends with this sport. An umpire, Rich Rosa says that he has "the best seats in the house". Dave Davis thinks he job is rewarding, "Knowing that I'm giving something back to the game from which I have received so many great memories is great". For 11 years softball, a game for everyone, has brought everyone together with mixed feelings. "The feelings that surround softball and its players are timeless".

bunting: The girl just got done bunting the ball after it was pitched to her.

POSITIONS- There are nine positions in softball. The three outfielders are right field, left field, and center field. Right field backs up first base, center field backs up second base, and left field backs up third base and shortstop. The pitcher is in the middle on the mound and pitching to the catcher, which stands behind the batter and the umpire, is behind the catcher.
