Alternative Education Center


The Alternative Education Center offer a number of opportunies for both the traditional  and non-traditional student.  The center offers instructor lead as well as NovaNet computer bases classes that cover all the subjects.  

M and Me:

The classes offered  include:
  • For the Non-traditional Students
    • Alternative Education -  In this class, students are given the opportunity to further their education by earning credits and working toward reentering the traditional school system or earning their high school diploma.
    • Credit Recovery - This class gives the student that has failed a class a chance to earn the credits back in the evening or before school in order to graduate with his or her own peers and still attend the traditional school day.
    • Evening Alternative Education - Evening classes are available for students who are unable to continue high school  during the day but wish to still earn  their  high school diploma.

T and D Working:

  • For the Traditional Student
    • Tutoring - The Alternative Education Center offers tutoring in many subjects for students.  Those who would like to receive tutoring should speak with a school counselor to sign up.  Students must commit to at least two days a week and an arrival time.
    • ACT Preparation - Students who would like the opportunity to study, prepare, practice and build the confidence necessar to succeed ate the ACT may come in for help.  Again, speak to a high school counselor to get signed up.
    • Para-Professional Test Preparation - Para-Professionals are welcome to come and receive assistance in preparation for their para-test.  Please call the PSRC in advance at 324- 7360

Future Plans:
        A high school summer program will be available the summer of 2007 as a credit recovery opportunity for high school students.
