BETH AND BOB TALLON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Beth and Bob Tallon Memorial Scholarship

Beth and Bob Tallon were long-time Lexington residents who were always supportive of Lexington High School academics, activities, and athletics.  Bob was raised in Lexington and Beth moved there in 1952.  They raised 6 children in Lexington before moving in 1984.

The Tallons strongly valued higher-education; Beth received her Bachelor‚s Degree in Criminal Justice and was accepted to UNL Law School in 1984 and graduated from the Law School in 1987.  They viewed the growing diversity in Lexington as a positive change and valued the richness of the different cultures.

In honor and memory of their values, the family of Beth and Bob Tallon has established three one time scholarships in memory of their parents for students graduating from a high school in Lexington.  Three scholarships of $1,200 each will be awarded to 2008 graduates for pursuit of higher-education goals in the 2008/2009 academic year.

QUALIFICATIONS

Consideration for the scholarship will be given to any graduating senior who shows qualities of good character, leadership, work ethic, financial need and participation in extra-curricular and community activities.  Further consideration will be given to the student's school attendance and responsible behavior.  The applicant should be a good student but doesn‚t need to be the strongest academic student in the class.
The scholarship will be awarded at Honors Night.

The third is to be completed by an adult designated by the applicant outside of the school, other than a relative.

3) Include a recent photograph with your application.
4) The completed application should be submitted to the counselor by the deadline established by
the school.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.
