Regional Scholarships

(THESE ARE NOT CONSIDERED LOCAL BECAUSE OTHER AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CAN APPLY)  SOME OF THESE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ON THE COMPUTER PROGRAM SO YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK THE COUNSELORS OFFICE FOR THE APPLICATIONS


TYSON FRESH MEATS LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP  Applications will be accepted until April 1 of each school year.  The scholarship will be available to any graduating high school senior who is planning to study
 in an accredited four year college and who is the child or step child of an employee (with a minimum of one year seniority) in the Lexington Tyson Plant  This scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000 or $500 depending on the plant.  Applications need to  be picked up at the plant, in the personnel office.   Deadline:  April 1.  Turned in at the plant.

TYSON FRESH MEATS REGIONAL SCHOLARSHIP   Applications for this scholarship can be obtained at the plant in the personnel office.   This scholarship is renewable each year of college. 
Deadline is April 1st.

LEXINGTON COOP AGRICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP-This scholarship has been
established to recognize a graduating senior who will major in agriculture or an agricultural related field in college.  The student or his family must be a customer or patron of the Lexington COOP. The scholarship can be obtained from the Lexington COOP office. The scholarship will be $250 in value.  Deadline is April 6.
 
HENRY K ORTHMAN SCHOLARSHIP has been established by the employees of
Orthman Manufacturing Inc. in honor of Henry K Orthman, its founder.  This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior that  has a family member that is employed by Orthomans..  Applicants can be from any of the area high schools.   The scholarship can be picked up at Ortomans office. The amount of the scholarship is $1,200.

DAWSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP has established a scholarship that will be awarded to a Dawson County Resident-student, who plans full-time enrollment at a Nebraska College or University, and majoring in Political Science.  You must rank in the upper 1/2 of the class, show qualities of good character and leadership, academic achievement, financial need and participation in extra-curricular and community activities.  The amount of the scholarship is $500.00.  Deadline is 4-15-2008.  Get scholarship application in counselors office.

THE MORTON ELEMENTARY SCHOLARSHIP  The PTO and faculty of Morton Elementary has established a scholarship of $300.00.  The student who receives this scholarship needs to be a student who attended Morton Elementary.

EAGLES/FRED HAMPTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship will be a $200.00 scholarship payable to the student.  The student must enroll in a Technical or Vocational school.  The student will be evaluated on his/her character, morals, and must be a credit to the community. DEADLINE IS APRIL 1st.  NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO THE EAGLES.

ALPHA DELTA KAPPA SORORITY SCHOLARSHIP The Phi Chapter presents a $400 scholarship each year to worthy student pursuing a post-secondary degree in education.  Students from Dawson and Gosper County are eligible.

DAWSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP
Dawson County Farm Bureau will fund three scholarships for $500 each for educational assitance to three
deserving high school seniors whose parents are members of the Dawson County Farm Bureau.   Get application in counselors office.  Deadline is April 1, 2008

FAIRBANKS INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Fairbanks of Lexington will offer up to full tuition  to any student who would like to pursue diesel mechanic
technology, or parts.  Deadline is February 15, 2008.  See counselors for details.

BETA SIGMA PHI SCHOLARSHIP
The Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship will be presented to a senior who is planning to attend any school in or out state beyond high school.  You will be based on character, leadership and scholastic ability.  Consideration will be given to financial need, and participation in school and community activities.  INSTRUCTIONS:  Complete the common application.
Submit one letter of recommendation.  Deadline is March 15, 2008.  Scholarship is for $200.  Turn applications into the guidance office.

Saint Ann's Endowment Scholarshiip
Any student that is a member of ST. Ann's Church.  Must be attending a religious affliated college (ie. Creighton,
Doane, Hastings, NE Wesleyan University).
