NORMAN W. AND SHIRLEY A. REYNOLDS SCHOLARSHIP
DESCRIPTION
The Norman and Shirley Reynolds Scholarship was established by the
Reynolds family to honor a graduating Lexington High School senior.
The scholarship has a minimum value of $750 dependent upon the interest
earned in a 12 month period.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be eligible to receive the scholarship, the male or female
graduating senior must be in the top 50% of the graduating class, must
have exhibited good citizenship while attending Lexington High School
and shall have earned at least three varsity letters in any
extracurricular or co-curricular activity during freshman through
senior years at Lexington High School.
INSTRUCTIONS
Each applicant should complete the common application. The
applicant must also submit three letters of
recommendation One of the letters of
recommendation must be from a coach or sponsor of the extracurricular
activity that the student lettered in.
Please attach a recent photo and submit the completed application to
the high school counselor by the local scholarship due date each Spring.
Members of the Scholarship Committee will judge the applications and
select the winner. The scholarship will be awarded at Honors
Night.
PAYMENT
The scholarship award shall be delivered to the student upon the
student≠s delivery to the Scholarship Committee of proof that the
student has earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better on
a 4.0 grading scale after one semester at any accredited college in the
United States. If the students fails to achieve a 2.0 GPA after
one semester of college or doesn≠t attend college within four years of
the announcement of the award, such recipients award shall lapse and
become part of the principal of the fund.
