Julie Miller Memorial Scholarship
Description
A scholarship fund has been established by the family of Sally and Mogens Knudsen in memory of Sally's sister Julie Miller.
The scholarship in the amount of $500.00 is renewable for up to four years, making the total scholarship value $2,000.
Qualifications
Any graduating senior from Lexington High School who is planning to
continue their education at an accredited post-secondary school may
apply. Applicants should rank in the upper 1/3 of the class, show
qualities of good character and leadership, academic achievement, and
participation in extra-curricular and community activities.
Instructions
Each applicant should complete the Common Application and return it to
the counselor's office. The applicant must also provide three
letters of recommendation. Two are to be completed by teachers
from the applicant's junior or senior year. Another letter must
be written by a non-relative from outside the school system.
Please attach a recent photograph.
Selection of the recipient will be made by the scholarship committee. The scholarship will be awarded on Honors Night.
Payment
The first payment of the scholarship will be upon successful completion
of the first semester or term at the college or university of the
recipient's choice. Subsequent payments will be made at the
beginning of each school year, provided the student is in good academic
standing. All payments will be made directly to the college or
