The John Higgins Memorial Scholarship

Description

The John Higgins≠ Family has established a scholarship fund.  The scholarship will be in the amount of $500 and will be awarded to one senior at Lexington High School, who has made plans to attend any university or state college.

Qualifications

The award will be given to any graduating senior, male or female, who shows leadership and character, and is a credit to the school and community. Consideration will also be given to financial need, participation in extra-curricular and community activities, and participation in at least two sports in the high school program.

Instructions

Complete the common application.  Also you need to to have 3 letters of recommendation filled out.  Two are to be completed by instructors whose class you have completed or are currently enrolled in.  The third is to be completed by a former coach of your sport.  Attach a recent photograph of yourself.

Limitations

You may not be considered if you are the recipient of another scholarship.  Payment of this scholarship will be only be upon proof and completion of 1st semester of college.  The scholarship will be awarded on Honors Night.
