The Eugene Hennek Memorial Scholarship

Description

This scholarship has been established by the family of Eugene C. Hennek in his memory.  This scholarship will be awarded to two graduating Lexington seniors.

The amount of this scholarship will be $500 each.  It will be paid upon successful completion of the first semester at the school of the recipient‚s choice.

Qualifications

Any graduating senior from Lexington who is planning to further their education at an accredited post-secondary school may apply.  Applications must have at least a 2.5 grade point average and be of good moral character.  The student‚s participation in school and community activities, future goals, financial need and scholastic record will all be considered.

Instructions

Fill out the common application and submit it to your counselor. 

Two letters of recommendation must be submitted.  One letter must be from an instructor from the applicant‚s junior or senior year.  Another letter must be written by a non-relative from outside the school system.  These letters must describe the applicant‚s leadership  qualities, willingness to accept responsibility, and ability to work with people.  Please include a recent photograph with the application.

Selection of the recipient will be made by the scholarship committee.

This scholarship will be awarded at the annual Honors Convocation.
