U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program: Attention seniors!
Thirty $1,000 scholarships awarded in a random drawing. No
essays. No minimum GPA required. Apply online October through
February.
Chadron State College:RHOP: The program is between Chadron State
College and the University of Nebraska Med Center. Benefits of
the program will be early acceptance to UNMC. Current options
are: Dental Hygiene, Medical Technology, Nursing, Physical
Therapy, Radiography, Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physician
Assistant. Interested in practicing in rural NE.

MARHOP Program: Mid-America Rural Health Opportunities Program is
a cooperative program between Wayne State College and Creighton
University Medical Center with options in Occupational Therapy,
Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy. For more information check with

Nebraska State College Board of Trustees Scholarship: Students
interested in going to Chadron, Peru, or Wayne State college. You
must score at least a 25 on the ACT or 1130 on the SAT, enroll as a
full-time college student for the fall of 2007, and provide at least
one letter of recommendation from a high school administrator or
teacher. January 15, 2008
Wayne State College: Academic Excellence Scholarship - This new
scholarship offers full tuition to top students. Recipients are
selected from nominations submitted by high school counselors, and
their academic record. Priority Scholarship Deadline:
Students who apply for admission by December 1, 2007, will receive
priority consideration for all scholarship programs. This
deadline applies to the RHOP, Neihardt, Academic Excellence,
Leadership, and Presidential scholarships. Students applying
after December 1 will be considered, as funds are available. The
January 15 deadline for the Board of Trustees and Multicultural Award
remains unchanged.
Norma Ross Walter Scholarship Program of the Willa Cather Pioneer Memorial and Education Foundation:
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to
female graduates of Nebraska high schools who are or will be planning
to enroll as English majors at accredited colleges or universities.
(Journalism is not included.) Selection is based on intellectual
promise, creativity and character of the applicant. The amount of
the scholarship is $1,000, payable at the beginning of the firs year of
college. The scholarship is not renewable. Deadline:

Nebraska Machinery: will provide up to six sponsorships for
diesel students attending Central Community College at Hastings,
NE. These sponsorships will provide tuition, fees, tools and
books ($8,000) value. Upon completion of the two-way program, the
student must agree to work for Nebraska Machinery Co. for a minimum of
two years. Deadline: February 15, 2008
2008 Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship: Must be
sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or
stepchildren of members of Department of Nebraska, The American Legion
or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current American legion
member at time of death. Selection of recipients will be made on
the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities,
financial need, and the completion of all information requested in the
application. Deadline: March 1, 2008.
Dawson Public Power District: Dawson PPD will award one $1,000
scholarship to an individual who plans to attend an accredited school
and begin a two-year utility line program.

D.J.'s Hero Award Scholarship The
Salvation Army of Nebraska is accepting nominations for their annual
scholarship. This $5,000 award recognizes Nebraska youth ages
17-19, who exemplify the qualities of dedication to faith, selfless
acts for others, and commitment to community. Given in memory of
D.J. Sokol who had these characteristics.
Applications in the counselor office. Due by March 3, 2008.
American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships: Many state and national
scholarships available ranging from $200 to $2,5000.
Criteria: Judged on character, Americanism, leadership, financial
need, and scholarship. Some require volunteer service, other for
tech Ed. degree, and others for nursing degree. Deadline-March
10, 2008
NFIB Free Enterprise Scholars Award: $1,000 non-renewable
scholarship. Applicants must be nominated by a dues-paying member
of NFIB. The applicant should demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit
and initiative, such as starting his or her own business.
Applications will be accepted from January 2008 and must be postmarked
no later than March 15th, 2008. Additional information is

Nebraska Aviation Trades Association:
A $1,000 and $500
scholarship presented by the Nebraska Aviation Trades
Association. The scholarship is for one year and is
nonrenewable. Must write an essay of minimum of 400 words (Topic-
"How Does Aerial application Affect Crop Production and Yields")
must be received by March 15, 2008.
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation: 5 scholarships valued up
to forty thousand dollars each. In order to be eligible an
applicant must be the child of a parent who has died from breast
cancer., exhibit financial need, and plan to attend a state supported
college in his or her state of residence. Please contact them at

Community College Scholarship: Ten $1,000 scholarships
Criteria: leadership, potential, academic achievement desire to earn a degree, financial need.
Eligibility: U.S. citizen, able to demonstrate financial need, accepted
for admission or enrolled at an eligible community college, must plan
to carry at least 12 hours a semester.

Holocaust Remembrance Project: National essay contest.
Students compete for all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., and

Board of Trustees Scholarship: Must score at least a 25 on the

Southeast Community College Educational Foundation Scholarship: The SECC Foundation Scholarship awards a
a $500 scholarship to high school seniors to be applied toward the cost
of tuition , when a student enrolls full time in a degree of dipoloma
program at SECC. Deadline is February 1, 2008.

NTC Associate of Applied Science Degree Diesel Technology
Program: Tuition, Fees, Books, Supplies, and Tools will be paid
for at Central Community College if you are going into the Diesel Tech
Program. The student must agree to work for NTC for a minimum of

Union Bank Money to Learn Scholarship: Minimum
Requirements: Upper 1/3 of graduation class or ACT score of at
least 20. 2008 Nebraska high school graduate. Union Bank awards 24
$500 starting in November through March. Just register to be

Central Community College General Scholarship: This
Scholarship is valued at $500. Open to any student that is
planning on attending Central Community College. Deadline is

Dawson Public Power Utility Line Scholarship: A $1,000
scholarship to a student who plans to pursue a utility line
career. Deadline: March 1, 2008
All Points Cooperative: Agriliance and Croplan Genetics are
sponsoring Careers in Agriculture scholarship program for seniors who
are going into agronomy or related crop production curriculum. A

American Legion Auxiliary: Several scholarships available.
Must be a resident of Nebraska and must veteran connected. $300
Vocational Technical Scholarship, Gift Tuition Scholarship,
Ruby Lorraine Paul Fund Scholarship, and the Averyl Elaine Keriakedes
memorial Scholarship will be awarded preferably, to a female enrolled
at UNL who plans to teach middle school social studies.

American Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship or Junior
Members: 5 four-year scholarships will be awarded in the amount
of $1,000 per year. Must be/shall have been Junior members of the
American Legion Auxiliary for at least 3 years
The Gus Swanson Memorial Communications Scholarship: Must be
pursuing a degree in one of the following fields: Advertising,
Marketing, Mass Communications, Communication Studies, Public
Relations, Journalism, or Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing. Must
have at least a 3.25 GPA. The scholarship is $500.
