Mission Statement: To develop capable and responsible lifelong learners. With the
cooperation of family, school, and community, we will prepare students
for the global challenges and the opportunities of the future.
Windy Acres Elementary School, formerly
known as Dawson County District 17, was assimilated into the Lexington
Public School District as a result of LB126, which abolished Class 1
school districts throughout Nebraska. Windy Acres became part of the
Lexington system prior to the beginning of the 2006-07 school term.
The school is located in a rural area five miles east of Lexington.
Windy Acres serves children in grades K through five in three
multi-grade classrooms, K-1, 2-3, 4-5.
